Femi Kuti, the son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has lamented the poor state of electricity in Lagos.
According to him, he has not had electricity in his home at Alagbole Akute, lagos for seven weeks.

He added that this shows that Nigeria in 2017 is still facing the same problems Fela spoke about years ago.
The Afrobeat singer said this during his performance at the New Afrika Shrine on Sunday, 23rd April 2017.
“’It’s been over 7 weeks of no electricity in my house.

“The reality is that we are still facing the same problems Fela spoke about,” Femi Kuti said.

Big Brother Niaja: Why Efe must not invest all his money in music – Rapper, Ycee

Nigerian singer, Ycee, has advised winner of the just concluded Big Brother Naija reality television show, Efe Ejeba against investing all his prize money in music.
Efe, an up and coming rapper, prior to his emergence as winner of the reality show was unknown and his songs yet to receive reviews from fans and critics.

Against this backdrop, Ycee advised Efe to be patient, stressing that breakthrough in music takes time.
The rapper urged the reality star to leverage on the fame he got from the Big Brother Naija to work on his craft.
Speaking with Buzztop Television, Ycee said, “Regarding what he wants to go into. I haven’t listened to any of his song. But a lot of people are saying he shouldn’t do music.

“But If music is something he’s really passionate about. With the amount of money and popularity, he’s been able to get from Big Brother, he should work on his craft.
“It’s not just about having passion for music but also taking that time to create good music that people actually enjoy.
“He’s already got the fame so that takes away like 90% of having to be patient and releasing music from time to time.

“All I’m going to say to him is don’t put all your money into music. It is not a venture that yields return ASAP. All the people that you see making it today, they actually started out from time. It takes a long, long process.”

Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi has called Nigerians ‘hypocrites’ for welcoming gay CNN reporter, Richard Quest while throwing hate comments at him for being gay.
Bisi Alimi expressed displeasure at how he gets discriminatory comments and threats from Nigerians for being gay but Richard Quest who is currently in Nigeria was being celebrated.

According to him, what makes Quest homosexuality acceptable and his homosexuality threatening?
On his Instagram page @BisiAlimi, he wrote: “So I heard Richard Quest is in Nigeria and as usual, my people are drooling over him.
“These are the same Nigerians that will not allow an openly gay person on their screen, or even give one a job.

“What is different about Richard Quest that makes his homosexuality harmless but my homosexuality as a Nigeria scary and threatening?
“Is it that my people think my homosexuality is in some way earth destroying but that is Richard comforting or as a people we just lack pure emotional intelligence to appreciate our own?

Isiaka Adeleke’s death: Osun State will never be the same – Davido

Popular singer, David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, has removed Osogbo, Osun state from his 8-city Back To Basics 2017 Tour.
According to him, Osun state will never be the same after his late uncle’s death, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the first executive governor of Osun state, reportedly died on Sunday as a result of an overdose of pain killers.
The ‘IF’ hit singer about a week announced via social media of his nationwide tour that was to cover 8 cities namely Lagos, Ibadan, Osogbo, Benin, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Ilorin.
However, it seems events surrounding his late uncle’s death seems to have affected the decision.

Recall that Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, prevented a crowd of sympathisers at the Ede, Osun State, country home of late Adeleke, from lynching Ms Idia Babalola, Aregbesola’s aide.

Fans blast Kim Kardashian over use of Virgin Mary image for her campaign

Kim Kardashian on Friday got the bashing of many of her followers and fans on social media for imposing her face in the image of Virgin Mary.
On Thursday, the 36-year-old reality star took to Social media to unveil her new Kimoji in honour of 420, also known as weed day.

The kimoji had Kim’s face superimposed on the image of Virgin Mary.
The Kimoji was shared in several videos which had psychedelic effects, and one of the videos was captioned, “When Kim Blesses you with that 420 drop.”
The mother of two also shared another image of a candle branded with the same image which is available on her app Kimoji.com for $18.

Why we can’t stop being sexual in entertainment – Tiwa Savage

Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has said that the desire for glamour and appeal is the reason entertainers cannot stop being sexual in their performances.
She said this while addressing some pressing issues in the Nigerian music industry as a guest on an entertainment show hosted by Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILYPOST.

According to her, entertainers cannot be stopped from adapting sexual scenes in their stage-craft but can be regulated through appropriate guidelines provided by a competent body or authority.
She, however, disclosed that contemporary musicians were misunderstood in a similar way the late Afrobeat King, Fela’s dancers were misunderstood because of their sexual displays on stage.
Savage said: “There is no way a movie and entertainment will not have sexual scenes. You cannot stop an artiste from being sexual in entertainment

“The only thing we can do as Africans is to provide guidelines.
“When I performed initially in Nigeria, they screamed that it was too much; that it was too sexual. We are still fighting the same battle the Fela girls fought.
“Fela’s girls were misunderstood. What they did on stage was just entertainment.

“What they do on stage doesn’t mean that they are loose off stage. People say Fela is godfather but people forget the women that added glamour to Fela’s show.”

Big Brother Naija: I don’t know why people dislike me – T-boss cries out

 

One of the finalists of the just concluded Big Brother Naija reality television show, Tokunbo Ajayi, also known as T-boss, says she discovered that a lot of people dislike her after her eviction from the programme.
Speaking with Cool FM, T-boss said the alleged “hatred” started from the house which later spread to the outside world.
According to her, “I had no idea, it was after I came out of the house that I knew how unliked I was. I think that hatred for me started from the house and it spilled from the house outside.

“I felt that some people didn’t like me in the house and I addressed that a few times. I came out and found out that many more people didn’t like me. I don’t seem to know why and care why.”

YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, aka ‘badoo’, has said that he fears God, adding that nothing could be greater than making heaven.
The rapper, who is known for profanity in his lyrics and music videos, leading to some of his songs being banned from airplay by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, considers money, fame and material things as nothing but vanity.
The multiple award winner told Vanguard that the biggest achievement he craves is heaven.

“The biggest achievement in this world is seeing my people grow, everybody living good; everyone living fine, living their dreams and making heaven.

Big Brother Naija: T-boss’ brother blasts AY for making jokes with Kemen’s sexual assault

 

Brother to former Big Brother Naija housemate, T-boss, Christova has taken a swipes at Nigerian stand up comedian, AY for making joke with the sex move involving his sister and Kemen in the just concluded reality show.
In a show at the Eko Hotel And Suites Victoria Island Lagos State, the comedian had used the incident that happened between T-boss and Kemen, both housemates in BBN show, to entertain his audience.
Recall that Kemen was disqualified and evicted at the same time after he was caught on camera fondling T-boss without her consent.

T-boss’s sister, Wendy had earlier wondered why Kemen was still awarded the same benefits with those who were not disqualified.
Reacting to AY’s jokes, Christhova wrote, “Trying to make an assault look normal and acceptable, ignoring the hurt the victim felt and still feels every time she remembers the incident.
“All I have to say is that karma is a dish best served cold and it multiplies, in the future when all your daughters get assaulted, raped and abused remember how u joked about another persons misfortune and made cash out of it.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate T-boss, has called on her fans to put the sexual abuse she experienced in the show to rest.
Recall that fellow housemate, Kemen was caught on the camera fondly T-boss without her consent.
T-boss was asleep while he carried out the act which resulted to him being disqualified and booted out of the show.

Reactions trailed the incident with the latest coming from T-boss’ sister, Wendy, who wondered why Kemen still moves around with other housemates.
Also generating more controversies is a comedy show where veteran comedians, AY and Helen Paul, during a concert, had described the sexual abuse as “small touch.”
However, T-boss has finally called for order, telling her fans to let go.

She wrote via @RealTboss, her twitter handle, “Tboss nation aka bossnation let’s put the Kemen issue to rest. I thank you all for standing by me I love you guys, I mean it.
“I forgive Kemen. I no hard feelings towards him. I don’t have time to be angry with such people in my life.
“What Kemen did to me was no joke. It was serious. Imagine the number of women that get raped. I am like cameras were all over the place.

Big Brother Naija: Actress Rita Dominic reacts to AY’s joke on T-boss sexual abuse

 

Veteran Nollywood Actress, Rita Dominic has lashed out at comedian Ayo Makum also known as AY and Helen Paul for making jokes about sexual abuse involving former big Brother Naija housemates T-boss and Kemen.
The issue came up at the “Warri Again?” concert where Comedian AY and Helen Paul entertained their fans with Kemen’s sexual abuse on T-boss in the realty show.
T-boss family is yet to put the issue behind as her siblings are still calling for a weightier punishment for Kemen, after he was disqualified and kicked out of the BBN show.
In their jokes AY and Helen had noted that the molestation that happened between the two was simply a “small touch.”

Rita Dominic has joined other voices speaking out against the culture of normalising sexual abuse against women.
The legendary actress wrote, “It is not rational to say that sexual misconduct or abuse of any kind is normal behaviour.
“We should not tolerate this school of thought.”

Foremost comedian, Ali Baba, has said that Nigeria will be “doomed” in the next 10 years, if the government does not diversify into agriculture, tourism, entertainment, etc.
Ali Baba stated this in a long post on his Instagram page, where he highlighted the achievements of car company, Tesla and comparing same with the ‘retrogressive’ state of Nigeria.
“Every time I see the remarkable landmarks of #Tesla I am further convinced that Nigeria will be so doomed in the next 10 years. Our recession will be televised on 3D.

“We started television broadcast in Ibadan. But South Africa went digital before us. We built a National Theatre before Dubai became a place. They have an Opera House now that is booked till July 2018. We had Ogbe Hard Court, a tennis tournament in the 70s. Yet we do not have a Nigerian Open. Lagos is blessed with water. Yet no international boat races. We have festivals that are still in the same style they were celebrated in 100 years ago. We still have one bridge linking the East. Onitsha Bridge. Built in 1965.

Big Brother Naija winner, Efe, returns to Nigeria amid rousing welcome at Airport

 

Winner of the just concluded TV reality show, Big Brother Naija, Efe Michael Ejeba received a rousing welcome as he arrived Nigeria in company of the first runner-up, Bisola.
A mammoth crowd of fans, who had waited patiently for about three hours to shower him with encomium, sang and danced at the Arrival Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
When Efe arrived the country, he was further delayed by his fans who wore branded T-shirts, as well as some airport officials and co-passengers, who struggled for photographs and selfies with the reality TV star.

Though, it was an exhaustive moment for the Delta State-born rapper who has just become a multi-millionaire, he managed to keep a smile all through, despite a possible jet lag.
Outside the airport, it was hectic for the team of policemen and protocol officers from Multichoice, organisers of the show, to shield them from the crowd, and usher them into the waiting convoy.
Efe, who was the youngest housemate in the show, returned with a prize of N25 million and a Kia Seranto Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) which is expected to be presented to him at a later date.
He beat fellow finalists – Bisola, TBoss, Debie-Rise and Marvis – in a tension-filled finale that had fans of the show canvassing vigorously for their preferred housemates.

Tony Grey, a renowned Nigerian highlife musician, has passed away.
Born over 60 years ago, Grey rocked the airwaves in the 70s through to the early 90s.
Among his popular songs are ‘she is my love’ and ‘my message’.

The Ozimba crooner had been ill and needed money to be flown abroad for treatment.
He was said to have suffered from diabetes and prostate cancer.
Tony Grey was an indigene of Aboh in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The ‘Come Back Love’ evergreen crooner, until his death resided at Cruz Land, Marine Quarters, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state.

My boobs not my selling point – Actress Yvonne Jegede

 

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has denied reports alleging that she had undergone breast enlargement surgery.
The Busty actress revealed that she’s naturally endowed, adding that her breast has always been big.
In an interview with Punch, the actress said her brain is her selling point not her breast.

“Many people feel my big boobs are my selling point, but it is my brain.
“As for the people insinuating that I did surgery to enlarge my boobs, I have always been this way.
“People who know me from way back will confirm that I’m naturally endowed.

“I thank God that I have a good figure and I have no regrets. However, I like my eyes so much and you can say that they’re my best features.”
When asked if her marriage would affect her career, Jegede said her husband understands her kind of job.
“I can be very daring on set and go to any length to interpret my character but I can never act nude.
“Being married will not affect my career. Meanwhile, my husband is also an actor so he knows the terrain.”

Davido gets ultimatum to pay N7.4m he allegedly owes car dealer

 
Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has been issued a seven-day ultimatum to pay up the sum of N7.4 million to Mr. Anekwu Chika over alleged dud cheque.
This is contained in a letter of demand addressed to Davido by Mr. Anekwu’s lawyer, Wahab Shittu.
Davido was alleged to have issued a dud cheque to the car dealer from whom he purchased a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450.

The legal documents attached shows that Davido may face legal consequences if he fails to meet up the demands within seven days

Caitlyn Jenner removes Penis to complete transgender transition

Transgender Advocate, Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner has undergone gender reassignment surgery to remove her penis.
The 67-year-old retired American athlete announced her transition to trans woman in April 2015, announcing name change from Bruce to Caitlyn in July 2015.
According to her, she feels liberated now that her penis has been removed because it was of no importance to her.

Caitlyn Jenner revealed the successful surgery was performed in January 2017.
“So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it,” Caitlyn said.
“The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated. So why even consider it? because it’s just a penis.

“It has no special gifts or use for me other than what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods.
“I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time.
“I am telling you because I believe in candor. I am going to live authentically for the first time in my life,” she said.

Winner of 2017 Big Brother Naija, Efe Ejegba, would be received as the Ambassador of State for Entertainment and Creative Industry in plateau state.
This was disclosed by Samuel Emmanuel Nanle, Director of Press & Public Affairs, in a statement on behalf of Governor Simon Lalong.
According to him, Efe’s appointment is a call on all citizens of Plateau State, to ensure they place value on the common humanity of her citizens in a multi cultural and cosmopolitan setting.

According to her, the chance she took with the Big Brother Naija despite being told not to has given her a platform to follow her passion.
Uriel, the diary queen thanked Big brother as she remembered her struggles to make a living in Lagos for 6years but now she’s able to pay for a business of her own.

Big Brother Naija: I knew Efe would win – Bisola

 
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Bisola has admitted she always knew Efe would win the reality TV show.
She stated this while speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, explaining that Efe has an aura that pulls people.
“I had always felt that Efe was going to win; even Big Brother used to ask who I thought would win, so when all my closest friends were evicted, the one person I knew in the house was Efe,” Bisola said.

“He deserved to win, I liked him from day one. I can’t really say what I saw but I think he has this aura that makes people like him. I had a close rapport with Marvis, TTT, Bally and Soma; although he left early”, she added.
Bisola also revealed it took her nine years to get selected to participate in the show.
“It took me nine years to get into the Big Brother house, that’s winning. Making it to the finals was also a big win for me. I wouldn’t love to try it again though, this one experience is enough to last a lifetime.

“This is not my first stint with reality shows, the first one was about my passion for music but Big Brother was for me to show what I can do”, she said.
On her plans after Big Brother Naija, Bisola said: “I’m definitely going to try music and movies, I don’t know which would flourish more but there is no harm in trying.
“I left radio because of my passion for acting. I was trying my hands on a lot of things and radio was one of them. I plan to go back to school but now I will major in something I am really passionate about, which is film production.”
