She said the donations were given by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), as part of the authority’s social responsibility crusade. Bala-Usman is also Managing Director of the authority.
The materials donated included food and non-food items comprising bags of semovita, maize, wrappers, mosquito nets, mattresses, palm oil, beans, blankets and mats.
The materials were handed over to Gov. Kashim Shettima.
She also commended the Nigerian military for its effort in rescuing 21 out of the 216 abducted students of the Government Secondary School Chibok in Borno.
She expressed optimism that the military will rescue the remaining 195 students of the school still held in captivity since 2014.
At least, 216 students of the Government Secondary School Chibok in Borno were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists while writing their final year examination on April 14, 2014.
